Healing Hands
A Free Monthly Newsletter for the Friends and Patients of: Quantum Wellness Center
Dear Friends and Patients,
Holy Moly! It’s November! What a great time of year. There’s a nip in the air, the leaves are changing colors, the holidays are just around the corner, football season is here, elections are getting into full swing, and it’s about time to eat out of control! Well, hopefully not the last part, but the rest of it is true!
As much of our focus shifts toward preparing for the holidays, I would like to call attention to what I feel is an incredibly important American holiday: Veterans Day.
Veterans Day, holiday observed annually in the United States in honor of all those, living and dead, who served with the U.S. armed forces. Unlike Memorial Day, which honors those who have died in wartime, Veterans Day honors all those who have served, in times of peace as well as in war.
Veterans Day is observed on November 11. The holiday was originally called Armistice Day, and it commemorated the end of World War I on November 11, 1918. Fighting stopped at 11 AM, the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month.
In 1919, on the first anniversary of the World War I armistice (truce), President Woodrow Wilson issued a proclamation expressing pride in the heroism of those who had died during the war. Business stopped for two minutes starting at 11 AM, and it later became customary to observe two minutes of silence from 11 AM. Many states made Armistice Day a state holiday in the 1920s and 1930s, and in 1938 the Congress of the United States declared it a federal holiday.
In light of all that is going on in the Middle East, it seems fitting to me to bring special attention to Veterans Day this year. So when we’re out and about, whether it be at the mall or the airport, when we see a man or woman dressed in their military gear, let’s give them an extra special showing of gratitude and support for the job they are doing for us. Happy Veterans Day!
Now that you’ve smiled at least once today, it’s your turn to give this newsletter to someone you want to bring a smile to (maybe even a chuckle.) Give this newsletter to everyone you know.
From the Heart…
I hope you’ve been having a great month so far! Today I have a special treat for you. As a chiropractor, I am always concerned foremost with your health. Let’s face it though, there are other areas of our lives that, if not maintained, will fall apart as well.
If you’ve heard of John Cummuta, you know he is a personal finance master who’s sold more than half a BILLION dollars worth of his products teaching people how to get out of debt and acquire wealth in the process. If you’re in debt currently and want to get out of debt, I highly recommend his teachings.
Here is an excerpt:
Financial Independence and Myths
by John Cummuta
Financial Independence … What does it mean?
Well, Webster’s dictionary defines the terms this way… Financial: pertaining to the science of managing money. Independence: freedom from assistance by others.
So, apparently, financial independence means the ability to manage your money in such a way that you have sufficient funds to live your chosen lifestyle — without assistance from others. In other words, sufficient money to meet all your needs whether you work or not because a job is really assistance from someone else — your employer.
Notice that this definition doesn’t mention amounts of money or the symbols of having money that we often attach to financial independence. The truth is that if you suggest financial independence to most people, they immediately think of a materially rich lifestyle — but if you dig deeper, you’ll find their personal definitions of financial independence to be as different as snowflakes.
You can use money the same way everyone around you uses it — and still end up financially
You can use money the same way everyone around you uses it — and still end up financially independent.
The United States Department of Health and Human Services regularly conducts an extensive study of what happens to the average worker in this country by the time they reach conventional retirement age (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services study, June, 1990, publication #1311871). The pitiful results fully show that 95 percent of the people in this country DO NOT achieve financial independence by age 65, but rather they end up DEPENDENT on the government, or charity, or their families, or they have to keep working until they die.
95 percent! That’s almost everybody!
These are working people just like you and me — people who went through their lives believing the myth that if they were just good employees and good consumers, they would be rewarded in the end. Instead, most of them end up struggling to survive on a Social Security check and/or a pitifully small pension. It isn’t pretty. If you know anyone living on Social Security, visit with them for a day and see if that’s how you want to spend the “Golden Years” of your life.
The truth is inescapable. If you’re using money like most Americans — buying things on credit, making monthly payments, trying to put away a few bucks each month, etc. — you’re doomed! Face it: 95 percent of Americans DO NOT achieve financial independence, and they are buying on credit, making monthly payments, trying to put a few bucks away each month. What makes you think you are somehow immune to the consequences of doing things this way? If you do what they do … you’ll end up the same way they will: BROKE!
The more education you have, the more likely you are to be successful.
If you study a little history, you’ll run across names like Thomas Edison, Albert Einstein, Henry Ford, and others who achieved great success, but who were educational failures. On the other hand, you can go to any university campus and find hundreds of what I call “professional students” who collect degrees like some people collect stamps — yet they’ll go through their whole lives making no significant contributions to the world. And the world, in turn, will make no significant contributions to their financial well-being.
The skills that really do help you achieve success and financial independence are simply not taught in schools, yet each year millions of high school graduates trek off to college. Why? Well … because that’s what you do after high school … isn’t it? That kind of attitude is not the self-directed mindset that produces achievement. Going to college because all your friends are doing so is the same drive exhibited by a log that floats down stream with the rest of the debris.
Don’t get me wrong. An education can help you get a good job … and having a job is a noble thing. The income from a good job, focused through a system that turns that money into wealth, will get you to true financial independence. But a good job alone will do nothing more than help you pay the bills as you (along with the rest of the 95 percent) are swept toward financial failure in your “retirement” years.
It does take knowledge to achieve financial independence. It’s just not the knowledge they teach in school. And, quite frankly, the $50,000 to $250,000 it takes to get a college education these days could make you rich by itself, if invested even in mediocre mutual funds from the typical college age of 18 to the typical retirement age of 65.
If you put that $50,000 into a tax-sheltered S&P 500 index mutual fund (assuming an average 10 percent annual return) for the 47 years between ages 18 and 65 — and never saved another dime your whole life — you’d still retire with $5,391,332! You could work at McDonald’s the whole 47 years and still retire with more money than all the college graduates in your neighborhood combined! See what I mean?
So as you can see you can’t afford to be a what I call a sheeple(sheep+people). If you want to rise above and beyond you have acquire some sort of financial independence plan to get started.
A Parable About A Guy Named “Ordinary”
There one live a young man named Ordinary who lives in a place called Familiar. He discovers one day that he had a Big Dream and decided to pursue it. Ordinary figured that, of all people, his friends and family would support him more than anyone in the pursuit of his Big Dream. To his surprise, though, he found that those closest to him were the ones who were most resistant to him going ahead and accomplishing his Big Dream. Maybe they were scared that he would change or that they might lose him.
The story goes on to tell of all the obstacles that Ordinary had to face in order to reach his Big Dream. He got help along the way by a person named Faith and another named Champion, who encouraged him and gave him hope. There are times when Ordinary felt like giving up and taking the easy road by abandoning his Big Dream and returning to Familiar to live with rest of his Nobody friends.
If you’re reading this, I would imagine the chances are good that you have experienced some of these things if you’ve ever strived to achieve a big goal. I know I have!
Long story short: if you have a Big Dream, go after it with all your heart and soul. Never give up. Remember, the people who quit in life guarantee the success of those who don’t!

Concerned about your blood pressure or cholesterol levels? High blood pressure (hypertension) and blood lipid conditions (high triglycerides; high LDL “bad” cholesterol; low HDL “good” cholesterol) are early steps in the development of more serious diseases (metabolic syndrome, heart disease, type 2 diabetes) or cardiac events. Keeping blood pressure and blood lipids (fats) under control are one of the best health “ensurance” policies you can have.
Personalized nutritional support can help. While genetic factors (like family health history) play a role in developing blood pressure/lipid conditions, they’re often preventable, manageable, and even reversible. Leading health organizations now recommend changing lifestyle habits—reducing body fat, exercising regularly, quitting smoking, managing stress, and eating healthy—before trying more aggressive therapeutic agents that can lead to serious adverse events with long-term use. Nutritional recommendations, such as concentrated fish oil supplements and condition-specific medical foods, are designed to make lifestyle recommendations for these conditions work even better…and faster!
Get some helpful advice and support. When it comes to improving chronic disease risk factors, it’s hard to know what steps to take on your own. What should you eat? What nutritional supplements do you need? Where can you get them? We can help you go in the right direction. In fact, research often shows greater success for patients who have support and guidance from a healthcare professional than for those who try to go it alone.
Call today to schedule an appointment to learn more about healthy habits for controlling your blood pressure and cholesterol.

What you need to know isn’t on the label. Purity and quality of fish oil supplements (omega-3s, EPA, DHA) is a growing public concern. High quality supplements have the potential to offer wonderful health support. But lesser quality products may contain potentially harmful levels of compounds that negatively impact health—or not work or taste as well as they should.
- Contamination. Some fish oil products may contain excessive levels of harmful toxins.
- Country of origin. Some products are manufactured in countries with less consistent quality standards.
- Rancidity. Fish oil is unstable and can quickly become spoiled and oxidized, which can be bad for your health.
- Low potency. Some products may contain lower levels of omega-3s than promised on labels.
- Fishy aftertaste. Fish oil supplements don’t have to taste (or smell) like fish to work well.
You see why it’s important to know what’s behind the label. Is it a preferred source (location, type of fish, responsible fishing methods)? What are the purity standards? Who does the testing? Where is it made? Is it protected against rancidity? How does it taste?
The hard investigative work has already been done for you. Schedule a visit to discuss personalized recommendations for great-tasting, quality fish oils without the worry—and the strength to give the support you need.

The 5 Early Warning Signs of Metabolic Syndrome
Metabolic syndrome is a critical turning point for your health. This cluster of conditions includes any 3 of the following: central obesity (“apple” body), low HDL “good” cholesterol, and/or high blood pressure, blood sugar, or triglycerides. A diagnosis of metabolic syndrome is a red flag that you’re more likely to develop type 2 diabetes or heart disease—or both. At this crucial point, healthcare providers often recommend lifestyle changes (healthy eating, exercise, stress management, nutritional and medical food support) to help manage or reverse metabolic syndrome and the risk to more serious diseases.
You can also reduce your risk to metabolic syndrome. There’s no need to wait for a metabolic syndrome diagnosis to take action. Simply pay attention to the warning signs. Any single risk factor above—especially belly fat—is an obvious signal that you could be on your way to metabolic syndrome. But there are also 5 other early warnings that may mean you’re at greater risk:
- Do you crave or eat a lot of carbohydrates (fast foods, sugary treats)?
- Do you get little exercise?
- Have you noticed a progressive weight gain (“spare tire”)?
- Do you have a family history of high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, or early heart disease?
- Have you experienced a decline in energy or increased stress?
It’s never too early to protect your future health. Set up an appointment today so we can discuss how you can reduce your risk to chronic illnesses.

The nervous system is the master controller of all cells, tissues and organs. Nerves control the heart, lungs, immune system, endocrine system, as well as our thoughts and other cognitive processes. Effectively, the nervous system is in charge of directing and overlooking all bodily functions – keeping us alive and healthy, fighting off diseases and infections, and healing us after we have sustained injury.
Many people are surprised to learn that the spine plays a key role in protecting the nervous system. In fact, the main function of the spinal column is to encase and protect the spinal cord and nerve roots. Without this protection it’s unlikely that we would survive a relatively small slip and fall injury.
As the spinal cord descends from the brain, spinal nerve roots peel away from the spinal cord at each vertebral level and exit through openings made by adjacent vertebrae. These small protective pathways are called intervertebral foramen or IVFs and permit safe exit of the delicate nerve roots to the rest of the body. Because of the location of the IVF, herniated or bulging spinal discs, subluxated vertebrae, arthritic bony growths, and inflammatory biochemicals from nearby injured tissues commonly irritate or impinge upon the spinal nerve roots.
When there is irritation and interference to a nerve, messages or impulses traveling along that nerve can get scrambled. Some signals become only slightly altered while others may completely fail to reach their destination. As this process continues, those cells, tissues and organs which depend on the affected nerves for communication become less effective in performing their many important tasks and become less able to maintain their optimal health. Ultimately, the affected tissues can deteriorate, degenerate and become nonfunctional and diseased.
This model of disease helps explain why so many patients under chiropractic care have noted dramatic improvements with many seemingly “non-spinal” conditions such as dizziness, ulcers, ear infections, asthma, menstrual pains and low energy levels, to name a few. While its not prudent to claim chiropractic treatments may eliminate or treat such conditions, many patients have experienced phenomenal relief.
Chiropractors are the only doctors trained to detect and treat vertebral misalignment’s and fixations as well as many other common spinal abnormalities which cause nerve irritation and interference. Correcting nerve irritation and interference allows the body to function the way it was meant to.

According to research, 10% of men and 15% of women in the U.S. experience at least 1-2 headache episodes a month. Furthermore 7% of the U.S. population suffers from frequent headaches, defined as headaches that occur at least 180 days a year.
Scientists have identified over 275 causes for headaches. Pain-sensitive structures and tissues cells including the skin, subcutaneous tissue, muscles, arteries, periosteal bone and the upper cervical and facial nerves produce headaches when irritated or injured. Fortunately, only a handful of causes are responsible for the majority of headaches.
Most common Headaches include:
- Cervicogenic- problems within the neck
- Muscle-tension- neck and upper back muscular spasms
- Post-traumatic- following head/neck trauma, i.e. whiplash( motor vehicle accident)
- Drug-induced
- Migraines
- Cluster
Chiropractic successfully help thousands of individuals everyday obtain safe, effective relief from their headaches. This is because most headaches have a spinal(cervical) , muscular, or habitual component which the chiropractor has been trained to identify and treat.
Fact: Surveys show that 25% of patients initiate chiropractic care for the relief of headaches.

Chiropractors are remarkably unique in the health care field as they are the only health care professionals trained to detect and treat a condition referred to as subluxations, also known as the “Vertebral Subluxation Complex”. Chiropractors have found vertebral subluxations to be responsible for and contribute to a number of spinal and extra-spinal disorders.
What Is The Vertebral Subluxation?
The vertebral subluxation is the term applied to a vertebra which has lost its normal position and/or the motion in relation to neighboring vertebrae. Vertebrae which do not function properly within the spine cause mechanical stress. This accelerates the wear and tear on the surrounding spinal muscles, ligaments, discs, joint and other spinal tissues which leads to arthritis. Pain, tissue tenderness, inflammation, decreased motion and muscle spasm will follow.
Additionally, because of the direct mechanical and physiological relationship between the spinal column and the spinal nerve roots, vertebral subluxations as well as other spinal abnormalities have the potential to impair proper nerve functioning. Once nerve functioning is compromised, communication within the body becomes less effective jeopardizing the overall health and wellness of the individual.
What Is The Subluxation Complex?
Through extensive research and study chiropractors have identified 5 components of the vertebral subluxation. Collectively, these elements are known as the “subluxation complex”.
1. Kinesiopathology – the loss of normal vertebral positioning and motion in relation to neighboring vertebrae
2. Myopathology – pathological changes occurring in the spinal musculature which includes hypertonicity, spasming, fibrosis, weakness and improper or inappropriate functioning
3. Neuropathology – irritation or injury to spinal nerve roots through compression, stretch or more commonly chemical irritation from nearby spinal structures
4. Histopathology – pathological changes which occur to the spinal tissues such as abnormal bony growths off the vertebral bodies and joints, fibrosis and adhesions of spinal muscles and ligaments, as well as dehydration and degeneration of spinal discs
5. Pathophysiology – the biochemical changes taking place in the spinal region which include inflammatory biochemicals from injured tissues and biochemical waste products
Each component of the subluxation must be eliminated for proper healing to occur and for the rehabilitation process to be successful. While full understanding of all components is not necessary, you should be aware of the complexity involved. Patients should also be aware that pain is but a small element of most diseases and disorders. Pain is a very poor indicator of your need for further treatment as pain generally subsides well before tissue healing and mechanical normalization has completed.
What Causes Subluxations?
Vertebral subluxations have a great number of different causes all of which the average individual is exposed to daily. These causes can be described in terms of physical, chemical, and emotional stress.
Physical causes include acute trauma to the body, repetitive motions affecting the spine, bad postural habits, improper workstation habits and design, and weak or imbalanced spinal musculature.
Chemical causes include poor dietary and nutritional practices, drug and alcohol use and abuse, and the ingestion of chemical toxins in the foods we eat, air we breath, and water we drink. Chemicals which are harmful to the body decrease the body’s ability to function optimally and reduce the ability to successfully adapt to and withstand internal and external stresses – making us more susceptible to spinal subluxations and the consequences of these subluxations.
Emotional causes refer to stress. Excessive stress or inadequate stress management skills can deplete the body of the ability to sustain normal functions. The impact of emotional stress on physical health is well documented in the medical research and can have devastating effects on the immune system, making the body susceptible to injury and disease.
How Are Subluxations Corrected?
Doctors of chiropractic learn a number of different chiropractic techniques and procedures to correct vertebral subluxations. Most of the procedures involve the application of a chiropractic spinal adjustment to the affected vertebrae.
Chiropractic adjustments involve the application of a quick but gentle corrective force into the “subluxated” spinal vertebrae. The adjustment can be delivered manually through the hands or can be applied through the use of a specialized tool. Subluxations generally require multiple treatments or adjustments for complete normalization to occur. Similar to straightening teeth, correcting malfunctioning and malaligned vertebrae requires time for the tissues to accept this new position as “normal”.
How Can I Tell If I Have A Vertebral Subluxation?
The only accurate way to determine if you suffer from subluxations is to receive a chiropractic evaluation. However, a number of signs and symptoms are commonly associated with the vertebral subluxation and include:
* neck pain, tenderness, soreness and stiffness
* back pain, tenderness, soreness and stiffness
* headaches
* dizziness or balance problems
* spinal muscle spasm, tightness or weakness
* reduced spinal mobility
* pain, numbness or tingling in the extremities
* joint pain and stiffness
* low energy
* poor overall state of health
* poor tissue healing
Individuals who are not currently experiencing pain or other discomforts are not necessarily “subluxation free”. As previously described, pain is a very poor indicator of disease processes, including the presence of subluxations. Subluxations are similar to cavities in that many times a significant amount of damage is present before symptoms such as pain are felt. This is why we recommend, like your dentist, that individuals seek periodic spinal evaluations to check for the presence of subluxations and other spinal abnormalities, even in the absence of pain.

Stages of Care
The typical patient will encounter 3 stages of care. The first stage focuses on symptomatic relief such as reduction of pain . The following stage addresses tissue healing and function normalization. The final stage consists of periodic spinal care to prevent the formation of new injuries, minimize future flare-ups of old injuries, and prevent degenerative spinal processes from occurring.
Relief Care
Relief care is the first stage of care for most patients. The primary goal during this initial stage is to provide the individual with symptomatic relief. Treatments focus on those techniques and therapies which most quickly and effectively reduce pain and other discomforts. This will allow the majority of individuals to continue their activities of daily living. Patients are generally recommended to “take it easy” but are encouraged to stay mobile and functional so long as there is not a risk of further injury or tissue damage. Therapies that reduce inflammation and muscle spasm are also used during this stage when present.
Corrective Care/Rehabilitation
The second stage of care consists of correcting the problems which caused and contributed to the condition and healing and rehabilitating the injured tissues. Unless these events take place, a favorable outcome is unlikely and future recurrences of the problem are likely. It is extremely important that the patient comply with and follow the instructions given by the doctor during this stage of care. Tissues and structures that are not fully healed and rehabilitated are prone to future problems. Sticking to appointments, complying with home exercises and instructions and following all other recommendations will help insure this occurs. Patients should also be aware that once pain and discomfort have subsided, tissue healing and functional correction is many times still incomplete and will often require additional treatments.
Prevention
Once the spinal tissues are healed and spinal biomechanics have normalized the patient will be recommended to continue with periodic spinal checkups. For some this might mean once per year, for others this may mean once per month or more. Chiropractic spinal checkups provide similar benefits to the spine that dental checkups provide to the teeth. Namely, catching minor problems and disturbances before they have the opportunity to cause pain, discomfort and irreversible tissue changes. Just like with cavities and heart attacks, irreversible tissue damage has generally occurred before the symptoms of spinal pain and discomfort become apparent.

Dear Friend,
Have your allergies finally got you to the point where you are willing to try something that works that does not follow the drug companies’ wishes? This letter is not about selling you another product, more pills or shots. For years you probably already have been taking pills, potions or shots for those allergies. And for what?! So you become addicted to drugs that don’t help fix the problem! How many times have you suffered from allergy symptoms and wish you could just move to a place where allergies just didn’t exist. Have you gone to different allergists hoping for that one cure-all that will make you or your loved one feel better for more than one day at a time…but you find out that it requires you to keep taking those shots, pills or better yet… avoiding the allergic substance forever. Yes, I’ve been there myself!! I have tried numerous Allergists, over the counter remedies and a host of other concoctions to try to give relief.
Have you had it with trying treatments that don‘t work?!!
I remember a time when I ate a small piece of sharp cheddar cheese at one of these fancy restaurants and spent the next two hours in the restroom with digestive problems…Has this ever happened to you? Or playing with the kids in an open field with someone else’s pet dog running around and then suffering from a sneezing attack that lasted hours…Or having chocolate or sugar and then suffering from a massive headache which you thought would kill you if it didn’t go away! How about sinus pressure so bad from your allergies that you thought your head will explode? Fatigue, skin rashes, coughing , sneezing, irritable bowel symptoms…the list goes on and on…all signs of reactions that the typical allergy patient endures on a daily basis!
Sounds too familiar doesn’t it!!
Have you had it?! Are you fed up with the allergy treatments you have been undergoing with little if any permanent benefits? Well maybe it is time for you to see what we have to offer…N.A.E.T. You are probably saying to yourself what the heck is N.A.E.T. It stands for Nambudripad Allergy Elimination Technique. This is a technique that was developed by Dr. Devi Nambudripad in Buena Park, California some 17 years ago. Dr. Nambudripad is a Chiropractor, Acupuncturist, Nutritionist as well as a nurse. She discovered that by combining various alternative approaches to health she was permanently able to help people rid themselves of allergies once and for all!! Sounds to good to be true you say? That’s what we thought until we experienced the treatment ourselves!! After years of being lactose intolerant I thought that milk and cheese were things that I would never be allowed to eat, but I am glad to say now I enjoy a nice cold glass of milk whenever I want, a heaping bowl of ice cream (Cookies n’ cream is my favorite) or a nice thick slice of good Muenster cheese without worrying about the after effects. N.A.E.T. is too good to be true, but don’t take my word for it, listen to what my patients have to say….
“Before I came to Dr. Popkin’s office I was extremely allergic to peanuts and Iodine. Thanks to Dr. Popkin and NAET I am now able to eat peanuts and foods containing Iodine. If I even came in contact with peanuts before NAET I would go into anaphylactic shock and end up in the hospital. So thank you sooooo much!! You have given me my life back!!!! And your staff has been wonderful to me, this is the best Doctor’s office I have ever been to! NAET really works!”
Leandra B.
“Mia was suffering from many allergies and we did not even know it. At 10 months old she had already had several colds that would last longer than normal, turn into bronchitis and even wheezing. After only 3 or 4 visits of treatment with NAET, Mia started to sleep better, eat better and be interested in everything like a 10 month old should!! Thank you for all your help. She’s been feeling so much better now for more than 2 months. I came here looking for some help for my little girl and I found
more than I asked for!!
Catherine F. (Mom)
“Thank you for helping my family. Especially my husband! What you have done is short of a miracle!! For your readers to understand, let me explain… At one time my husband was extremely sick with asthma: 3 inhalers 3 times a day!! Another time he was on allergy shots for over 2 years! Recently, the last 3 years he has been taking Claritin-D 24 hour tablets and a steroid nose spray everyday. He felt he could not deal without them. Within seeing Dr. Popkin for 3 months he no longer needs or desires these meds. The NAET treatments eliminated his allergies completely!! This is going to make the quality of life so much better. My husband is 35. Your health is worth the time and money.
My sons, Trenton & Ricky, daughter Heather and myself are grateful to you. THANK YOU!!

Eczema in Children & Adults
Tell me if this sounds familiar: your child begins to break out in a skin rash, and he or she can’t stop scratchin’. Ugh, it drives you crazy. Then you start to itch and scratch just like they are. Maybe you have sympathetic pains and suddenly breakout in a rash. If you are a responsible parent you would go and see your doctor. They would probably advise you to take an over the counter medication/lotion or write you a prescription for Cortisone cream. And the diagnose you or your child receive is the Big “E” word. “ECZEMA!” You are faithful to your Doctor’s request for several days; your condition(s) either improve, or remain the same. Let’s say they do get better, now you feel confident enough to stop the medication causing your symptoms to come back. What should you do? Well?
Eczema is a common problem in children and is a food allergy until proven otherwise.
Let’s go over some facts:
The problem often appears on the face as patches of reddish, scaling skin. As eczema worsens, the skin becomes more itchy, red, thickened, and grooved, and may blister, weep, and crack.
- The typical distribution of eczema is on the face, behind the ears, on the fronts of the elbows, the backs of the knees, the hands, neck, and trunk.
- The neck may show what looks like a (dirty neck).
- Hands may be dry and thickened. The face is less frequently affected.
Children with eczema often develop other problems with allergies and can progress to more serious conditions like asthma, sinusitis, infections, joint pain, and arthritis.
In a double-blind food challenge of 320 children with eczema a food allergy was present in 64% of the patients.
Allergies occur when your immune system makes a mistake. Normally, your immune system protects you from germs and disease. It does this by producing antibodies that help you fight off bacteria, viruses, and other micro-organisms.
For the fifty percent of Americans (128 million people) suffering from various health problems caused by allergies not yet known to them, NAET will come as an astonishing surprise.
So what is NAET you ask? NAET stands for Natural Allergy Elimination Technique. It is an extremely safe and effective means of treating all forms of allergies. This form of treatment has been around for over 25 years and was developed by a doctor who was seeking an alternative treatment for patients. There are no needles, shots or medications used. The treatment is completely painless and totally safe for infants, children and adults. By using NAET we are able to reprogram the immune system. With NAET, I have treated many patients with Eczema and have found that most patients have incredible relief of their itching, redness, dryness and flaking. Their skin color and texture changes once we clear them of their allergic responses.
